Japanese tea cups
Enjoy Japanese tea in your style
Generally, short, thin cups tend to be used for sencha or gyokuro, and tall, thick cups tend to be chosen for hojicha, genmaicha, and bancha. Big, full size cups are used for matcha (powdered green tea), which needs enough space for tea whisk movement. Everyone’s Tea calls short cups sencha-cups, tall cups yunomi-cups, and big matcha cups tea bowls. Sencha-cups are often used with saucers at formal occasions. However, these rules are not always the case. Nowadays, people’s preferences are more diversified into various styles. Some people use mug cups or bigger sizes of sencha cups for green tea these days. We at Everyone’s Tea selected contemporary Japanese tea cups, which can create Japanese style on your table with modern looks. | |
