Create good atmosphere at tea time
Hospitality is one of the important spirits in the way of tea. In tea ceremonies, art and flowers are put out in the tea room to make guests feel welcome. After drinking tea, guests will take time to admire the tea bowl and sometimes other utensils (containers of matcha, etc.). They will enjoy conversation about the art, flowers, or tea bowls.
You can bring that kind of style to your tea time or tea party. Your favorite picture from a past trip, or favorite drawing, or a seasonal flower from your backyard will enhance your tea time. You can tell about the tea set that you imported from Japan. It can be anything. Playing music you like, setting the lights… these things will stimulate conversation with your family or friends.

Take your time and enjoy relaxation with fine tea
For your nice relaxing tea time with friends, Everyone’s Tea will recommend a little better tea like a fine sencha or gyokuro. Basically, it is better to take a longer brewing time with lower temperature hot water for fine teas. Isn’t it nice to enjoy chatting over preparing the fine tea?
| Water temperature Degree C (Degree F) | Brewing time | | Lower grade tea | 90-100 (194-212) | 30-45 seconds | | Regular sencha | Around 80 (175) | 40-60 seconds | | Fine sencha | Around 70 (158) | 1 minute – 1.5 minutes | | Gyokuro | 40-60 (104-140) | 2 minutes |
Like with a good wine, enjoy the aroma and the color of green tea. Green teas have unique refreshing aromas, and Japanese teas have more varieties in brewed tea color than coffee and English teas. They range from light yellow to deep green and from orange to dark brown. Sencha have a light yellowish green color, and gyokuro have similar deep yellow color.

Choose snacks and sweets that go with green tea
In Japan, senbei and arare (rice crackers), and wagashi (Japanese cake) are some of the most popular snacks and sweets to accompany green tea. Everyone’s Tea would like you to find your favorite ones in your own country. Chips, Pretzels or chocolate-chip cookies… try anything! If you find something amazing, please let us know by e-mail! Your tea time with friends will be even better with your favorite snacks.
